I firmly believe that the heart of counseling work rests in a therapist's ability to listen and to nurture a trusting relationship.
About Maggie
As an immigrant, my multicultural background fosters an openness to diverse perspectives. I also honor the uniqueness of each individual experience. I skillfully guide clients to tune in to their physical and emotional responses. Drawing from my counseling expertise and rich life background, I collaborate with clients to facilitate deep processing, aiming for emotional release and healing.
On a personal level, I enjoy reading, writing, and traveling. I have published two books, one of them a well-received Chinese translation of a memoir. While I value the time spent with friends, I equally treasure moments of solitude.
My Philosophy
Our brain is an incredible processing machine, which digests and organizes our experiences. But our encounters are just so many, and some so dramatic or traumatic, that much of our experience can be frozen in an unprocessed state.
As a therapist, I work with clients to promote the deep processing that aims at emotional release and healing. My primary approaches include Adlerian Therapy, brainspotting, somatic, and Internal Family Systems (ISF). For younger clients, I combine Play Therapy and Art Therapy techniques.
我的主要咨询方法包括阿德勒疗法、脑视点定位疗法、体感疗法和内在家庭系统疗法。在儿童和青少年的咨询中,我会结合游戏疗法和艺术疗法的技巧。
I bring clinical education as well as life experience to assist you in the effort to overcome obstacles in life transitions.
